Part 1:
Patrick takes Alex’s money but then instead of doing what Alex wants Patrick does what we least expects and TELLS HOPE!!! He tells her everything except the part about Alex promising that Patrick would get Hope in the end. Patrick explains to her how he wants to bring down Alex. He tells her that he has known who Alex was for a long time but couldn’t do anything without exposing who he was. She is angry at him for risking Marlena’s life to save his own butt. He admits his mistake and tells her that he was not wanting to hurt anyone but was afraid that if he exposed Alex not only would he be in danger but his mom and siblings too. Hope understands even if she doesn’t like it. But the two talk more and he asks her for her help in exposing Alex. She agrees since Marlena and John are her friends. But she puts the breaks on “them” (aka Patrick and Hope having a relationship). He understands and while admits he cares for her, his focus now is in doing the right thing. Patrick asks her to bring Bo into this but she refuses (turns out later this is a smart move).
So Patrick pretends to do what Alex wants which includes Patrick killing John. But unbeknownst to Alex Patrick clues John into the plan. Patrick, John and Hope fake John’s death at the hands of Patrick. Alex thinks he has won and give Patrick his money and an envelop with a building address in it. He tells Patrick that if he blows up that building then Hope will be his forever. As Alex leaves this meeting he walks out into spotlights as John and ISA are there to meet him and arrest him… this was the plan Patrick, Hope, and John had hatched. This way they have Patrick with evidence in hand and a solid case against Alex. Patrick’s reward in it is a full pardon for his past crimes. As Alex is exiting we see Patrick hide the address for the building in his pocket.. and know he has no intention of giving it to the police or Hope or John.
When John and Hope walk up to arrest Alex, Alex grabs Hope and a fight happens and he gets John’s gun. He takes Hope prisoner. He gets into a car and takes off with Hope. Patrick and John follow in hot pursuit. Unfortunately for Alex, Hope is no damsel in distress. She beats him up while he is driving the car. They swerve and run off the road and crash. Both get out and the fist fight between them continues. Then John and Patrick show up. Alex gets some distance between himself and Hope. He pulls the gun and shoots at her. Patrick dodges in front of it and takes the bullet in the shoulder to save Hope. John tackles Alex (which is why he didn’t mortally wound Patrick or Hope). These two now go at it and we get the big pay off fight between them. In the tussle they both fight for the gun… it goes off. This would be a Friday episode with the cliffhanger being “who died!” Of course come Monday we find that it was Alex. Yeah… ding dong the dick is dead!
Okay so that would be the end of the Alex nightmare and then John and Patrick and Hope would separate story wise for awhile (they will rejoin up later on). John going to fix things with Marlena and finish solving the mystery Alex left.
Patrick is now a free man with no reason to hide. Hope is thrilled with his help and honesty. He looks guilty. She says that she is still struggling with her feelings with Bo but believes he (Patrick is a good man) and knows Bo is moving on with Billie, and so would like to try having a relationship with him (Patrick) if they take is slow. Patrick we can tell is totally struggling with guilt and also curiosity of what the address is about. One day Hope wakes up and Patrick is gone. He leaves her a note saying he had one last loose in to take care of and will find her again after it is over. Hope of course say ‘bs’ and takes off to follow him.
Patrick gets to the address and it is an abandoned building in some other country. In the basement he finds a secret secure facility and takes out the guards. In the secret room he finds an unconscious man. He lifts up his head and says “Bo?!”
