Part 12:

 

Patrick & Bo2:

 

Patrick and Bo2 are in their cell when the door opens and Mason walks in. Bo2 and Patrick stand up and Mason tells them not to bother attacking him that they are being watched and would be killed instantly if they try anything. Patrick of course recognizes Mason and asks him what he is doing here. Mason says he is flattered Patrick remembers him but Patrick glares back and asks him who he is holding his leash this time as he knows his former employer is dead. Mason says, "Like you Patrick I am flexible and go to the highest bidder… that is until now." Patrick scoffs, "What are you telling me you found something to believe in?" Mason says, "As a matter of fact yes. I would die for L… and happily kill." You can tell by the way he says all this that he knows Patrick will recognize the name "L". Patrick is taken aback and doesn't respond. Mason continues, "That's right my friend… you stumbled into the wrong pond this time." Bo2 chimes in, "Not that you two bickering isn't fascinating but who the hell are you and what do you want with us? And where the hell is my wife?"

 

Mason smirks at Bo2 and says "I'm sorry I suppose you and I haven't really had a proper introduction since you woke up. My name is Mason and we don't WANT anything from either of you… you are simply bait. Now, if you would both be so kind as to turn around and kneel, and place your hands behind your head." He pulls out two pairs of handcuffs. "It's moving day." Patrick and Bo2 look at each other and Patrick tells Bo to just do as he says. Bo2 looks like he wants to fight but Patrick gives a nervous look that indicates to Bo2 that this isn't the time. Mason notes the looks and laughs "Lovely. I'm so glad you found a partner who will finally listen to you Patrick." He handcuffs them and leads them out of the room.

 

Patrick and Bo2 are next seen blindfolded and put into a van. Bo2 we see has found a piece of metal like a paperclip and is picking the lock on his handcuffs. He frees himself and removes his blindfold. He then picks the lock on Patrick's cuffs and takes off his blindfold. Patrick thanks him and the two try the door of the van but it is locked. Bo2 "This is our chance." But Patrick says "No… we need to see where they are taking us and why." Bo2 looks puzzled and annoyed, "Why?!" he whispers. Patrick says "Because… this is bigger then we thought. They said we are bait… bait for who is what is worrying me. If it is someone from Salem then chances are it is someone you and I want to protect." Bo2 looks at him and says "You mean Hope." Patrick says, "Yes I mean Hope." He pulls out his cell phone and sees he has a signal. He says, "They didn't take my phone off me for a reason… they know I'm being tracked. They are hoping she follows us."

Bo2 asks "Why do they want Hope?" Patrick shakes his head and says he has no idea. Bo2 ask Patrick who Mason is and to tell him what he knows. Patrick tells him that Mason was an old handler of his and his partner Clancy's. Mason use to work for DiMera but would float around to several of the 12 for work. He said "Mason was a hired gun… total mercenary but one of those… well he is also a very spiritual man." Bo2 looks at Patrick like he is crazy and says "Doesn't exactly strike me as a god fearing man." Patrick chuckles and says, "No not like that. He was always complaining about the 12 and how they needed someone to pull their power together and go for 'higher goals'… he talked constantly about how he was looking for someone in the 12 to be a visionary. I know it all sounds crazy but well… that's Mason. If he found someone in the 12 he felt he could believe in… well then that's not good news."

 

Bo2 then asks him, "And this person this… 'L' he mentioned?" Patrick is visibly uncomfortable but stammers out what he can. He says, "Honestly…. I don't know who L is. Don't know name or even a clue what he or she looks like. All I know is that of the 12 'L' was… different. A definitely flare for anonymity, ruthless, and not driven the same way guys like DiMera or North were. This one was unique… 'L' has... for lack of a better way to describe it.. a clear, unwavering, and heartless vision." Bo2 says "Which is why Mason believes in this guy?" Patrick says, "Mason's allying himself with 'L' is definitely interesting, I'll say that much. L is dangerous. He won't play games, it isn't a chess match, no involved or grand charades like Stefano was fond off. L wants something L gets it… one way or another but there is no toying with the prey for joy or revenge... everything has a purpose. And the worst part? L is patient… very very patient."

 

Bo2 looks nervous and angry, he says "And he's after Hope." Patrick nodes, "Apparently. But what L would want with your wife I don't know… unless." The same thought dawns on Bo2 he says, "Gina. Hope, even if she is no longer possessed by the Gina personality must have information locked up in her mind somewhere." Patrick says, "Yes! And if she worked for Stefano she worked for the 12. I can only assume she has some serious dirt of them. But… why plant another Bo in Salem 5 years ago? Why hold you hostage? Why not just kidnap Hope and get the info?" Bo2, shakes his head, "I don't know. Seems like a game for someone you said doesn't play games." Patrick agrees and says, "Which means there is more too it… for some reason, if we are right on why L wants Hope, she needs us to get what she wants from her."

The two men feel the van start to move. Patrick says quickly, "Okay we have to go along with them… for now. Which means…" He holds up the blindfold and handcuff.   Bo2, "I agree unfortunately… but if Hope is walking into a trap we have to warn her." Patrick says, "We can't… if I call her it will be traced. They wouldn't leave me with my phone and not have it tapped." Bo2 says, "Yeah… damn it we have to warn someone!" Patrick smiles and says, "I think I have an idea."

 

Salem:

 

Chelsea is at home and getting ready to go out. Billie asks where she is going and Chelsea lies and says shopping. Billie tells her no and sends her up to her room. Chelsea goes and then sneaks out the window.

 

We next see her at Frankie's office as he opens the door surprised to see her. He asks what's wrong and she says, "I need you to do something for me… I need you to break your lawyer/client confidentiality clause." Frankie asks what she is talking about. She says, "I need you to tell Hope about what I did with the emails and… what Billie did that night in the motel." Frankie says, "What?" Chelsea explains what Billie did and how Hope saw and that's what made her leave. She says, "I want you to call Hope and betray me. Tell her what I did and DO NOT tell her, or anyone else, I told you to expose me." Frankie is flabbergasted he regains himself and then sits Chelsea down and says, "Okay listen… don't take this wrong but you aren't the most trust worthy person. I think I know what you are trying to do here. You get me to break confidence and then you can get a mistrial and a new lawyer after I am disbarred. It won't work Chelsea. Believe me it is killing me not being able to tell Bo and Hope what you did. But I can't, not even if it will help my client escape trial for a bit longer." He says the last part a bit sarcastically and we can tell he is not exactly Chelsea's biggest fan at the moment.

 

Chelsea pleads with him, "Please, Frankie! That is not what I am trying to do! I'm not wanting this to help me I'm… please, Frankie… my dad is going to give Hope her divorce he's not thinking clearly!" Frankie looks at her confused, "I thought that his divorcing Hope would make you happy? I'm not going to fall victim to your wavering morals. You want Hope to know… tell her yourself." He stands up as if too say the conversation is over.

 

Chelsea stands up too and walks over too him and says in a cool and passively aggressive way, "You know… I didn't think I would have to talk you into this. I mean I figured you of all people would understand the importance of families staying together. Or maybe the Brady's don't look out for each other as much as they clam too." With that she picks up her coat and heads to the door obviously upset. Frankie looks like he was just punched in the gut. Before she leaves he says, "Fine… I'll… think about it. But if you double cross me… you are on your own. It won't be just Hope's testimony you will have to worry about."   Chelsea's back is too him but we see her face and her expression that was just one of anger and annoyance is now quickly turned to concern and fear and she says without turning back to him, "Believe me… I know what I'm risking." We can tell that she isn't talking about the trial or him and Hope but thinking to her conversation with L. She leaves. Frankie stands there contemplating the conversation; he walks over to his desk and flips through his rolodex to Hope's number and stairs at it thinking about what to do.

 

Hope:

 

Hope is back at Patrick's hideout she put the DVD she burned into his computer and opens the file about the Serum she found. She reads aloud, "RX: 4-815-16 'Synaptic Release and Reversal Serum' compound should be administered in one dose to patient who has been through 'RX: 23-42 'Synaptic Conditioning Compound'. Once administered patient will lapse into lucid state where the conditioning will be released and subject will regain prior cognitive status. Affects will likely induce sleep after lucid period. Side affects: Sodium Pentathlon is an element so subjects will be unlikely to lie for the first hour after the serum is given. Dizziness… blah blah blah..." Hope skips ahead and reads, "Warning: Serum is a complete release, it is impossible to have the subject only remember selected elements of their prior conditioning. If there are aspects subject should not remember then RX: 23-42 should be re-administered and proper conditioning should be preformed." Hope curls her lip and says to her self, "In other words, they'll know all your dirty little secrets so be warned. How nice."

 

We see her screen as she scrolls down the list of ingredients. She picks up her phone and calls Lexi. She tells her she has found something and needs her help. We see Lexi get the email on the other end and read it she says "Whoa. This is way beyond me Hope. But I will call a friend of mine who is an expert on experimental drugs." Hope thanks her. Lexi asks if she is okay and if she heard about the trial. Hope informs her she has and will be back in time. Lexi tells her she loves her and is there for her. Hope thanks her and tells her she will be in touch.

 

After she hangs up Hope notices her GPS is blinking it has a signal. She jumps up and says, "I don't' believe it! There you are Patrick." As she looks down at the screen that shows a blinking light on it. She grabs her coat. We get a shot of the screen on the laptop and see a folder open with lots of files in it. The camera focuses in on three that are label: 'Georgia', 'Ryan_Brady_Project', and 'Gina'. Hope doesn't see them and slams the laptop shut and takes it with her as she runs out of the apartment.
