Part 13:

 

Patrick and Bo are still in the van as Patrick frantically types something into his phone. We finally see what Patrick types and it reads: “Mimi, I know you newlyweds find BED SO AROUSING! but try and find time to feed my cat Opeh.” He hits send. Bo2 looks at him and says “What the hell was that?” Patrick says, “It’s a code I taught my sister long ago. I was away a lot and she needed someone to talk to and our mother… well ‘nosey’ doesn’t cover it. So Mimi and I would write each other in anagrams. ‘Bed so arousing’ is an anagram for ‘Bo is dangerous’.” Bo2 looks impressed and asks, “And your cat?” Patrick says, “I don’t have a cat. ‘Opeh’ is equals ‘Hope’ I couldn’t think of a way to work her in better but I’m hoping its enough to make Mimi make some calls. And at the very least she can keep Shawn away from the Bo in Salem.”

 

Bo asks how and Patrick says, “Because she’s your daughter-in-law.” Bo2 looks pleasantly shocked and says “You didn’t tell me we were family.” Patrick smiles and laughs uncomfortably saying “Honestly I try and forget that fact… kinda complicates things.” We get the hint that he means his relationship with Hope. Bo asks, “Why’s that?” Patrick covers saying, “Oh well… lets just say that the Bo in Salem isn’t exactly my biggest fan.” Bo2, “Well your code is great but if these people holding us are as good as you say don’t you think they will figure it out too.” Patrick nodes and says, “Yeah probably, but it may still take them some time.” Bo2 says, “Well let’s hope its enough.” He takes up his blind fold and says, “Shall we then?” Patrick nods and the men rebind themselves and just in time too as the door opens and they are hauled from the van and we see them being taken up the ramp into an airplane. They are marched inside right past L but are blindfolded and can not see her.

 

They are put in the back of the plane as Mason sits across from them and tells them, “Sit tight gentlemen and enjoy the ride. Oh but keep in mind that there are two men with firearms pointed at your heads and please don’t make them shoot… air travel and guns always make me nervous.” Mason smiles at the two blindfolded men.

 

Hope:

 

Hope is in a car driving towards the GPS signal when her phone rings. We see her pull into a small airport parking lot and answer her phone. Frankie says, “Hope, it’s Frankie. There is something I need to tell you.” Hope looks a little exasperated and says, “Frankie, can it wait? I’m kinda in the middle of something.” He says, “No it can’t. Its about the divorce. I think there is something you should know first.” Hope turns off her car and says, “Okay… what is it?”

 

Frankie tells her, “This is a serious breach of ethics for me but I have to tell you before you and Bo make a big mistake. Chelsea… she sent those emails from Bo. She’s been pushing you two apart all along. And… Bo didn’t sleep with Billie that night you saw them… the night you left. Chelsea told Billie you were coming and Billie staged it. Bo was unconscious.” Hope looks furious and on the verge but pushes it back. Frankie says, “Hope? You there? Are you okay?”

 

Hope finally answers and says, “It doesn’t make any difference. This changes nothing.” Frankie on the other end looks surprised he says, “Hope… I don’t think you understand! Bo didn’t want the divorce. He didn’t betray you that night.” Hope stops him, “Yes! Yes he did! Why was he even with Billie? If he needed someone he could have turned to Roman, or his parents, Abe, or YOU! But no… Billie… it is always Billie. He’s never seen her for what she is and he will never see Chelsea clearly either. Of course they are going to manipulate this situation, and why shouldn’t they? Bo makes it so easy for them. He always has. Billie and Chelsea’s actions may be inexcusable but how can I blame them for all this when at any moment Bo could have put a stop to it? Bo LET’S them hurt us!” She is close to tears but being strong and choking them back.

Frankie says sympathetically, “But Hope… it matters because it means Bo did try and reach out to you.” Hope stops him and asks, “Tell me Frankie… when was the last time you saw Bo? Was he with Billie or Chelsea? Was it to work on her defense? Was he telling you to tell me he would fight the divorce? Was he telling you he was out on the next flight to find me?” Frankie pauses and we have a flashback of his last conversation with Bo and Bo’s demanding he put the divorce through. Back to reality Frankie looks beaten. Hope notes the pause and says, “I thought so. Frankie… I appreciate your telling me this. I love you and you are my family no matter what. But, this isn’t about Billie or Chelsea… this is about Bo and I. And the fact is I cannot trust him and he is not the man I married.” Hope sees a plane taking off and notices on her GPS the signal moving in the direction of the plane. She says to Frankie, “I’m sorry Frankie… I have to go. I will see you at the trial and… thank you for tiring. I’m sorry Bo asked you to be Chelsea’s lawyer and put you in this position.” She smiles slightly and says goodbye. Frankie on the other end hangs up and says to himself “Why don’t I disagree with  you Hope? Bo isn’t the same man he use too be.” He looks sad and picks up the divorce papers and puts them in a tray on his desk labeled ‘To be Filed ASAP.’

 

Frankie steps away and then says to himself, “Okay… one last effort.” He picks up his phone and dials a number.

 

Back to Hope:

 

She leaves her car and runs over to a man holding a clipboard walking away from the airstrip towards the building. She stops him and asks him to please tell her where that plane is heading. He says that he’s not allowed to do that. She persists, “Please… a friend of mine is on that flight. I have to get in touch with him.” She takes the man’s hand and says “I would VERY much appreciate any help you could give me.” We notice that she has put several bills in his hand. He glances at the money and pockets it. He sighs flips over the pages on his clipboard, makes a note on it, and lays it on the stand near the entry way of the building. He says loudly, “Sorry lady, I said I can’t help you.” He then gives her a knowing look and glances to the clipboard. He goes inside. Hope looks down and notices a little checkmark next to a flight that is listed as bound for Paris. She smiles and looks around the airstrip. She seems a man (obviously a pilot) looking over his private jet.

 

Hope goes over to the man and complements him on his beautiful airplane. The pilot is an older man who beams back, “Si! Dat she is.” He has a think Italian accent. She asks, “Is she for rent?” The man laughs, “I be too old signora for these games? Why not you tell me where you want I to take you? You too pretty a girl to say no too.” He smiles, in a sweet innocent way, think… nice older father type. Hope smiles and says, “I need to get to Paris.” The man smile and says, “I LOVE PARIS! Hop in!” Hope looks befuddled as she obviously was expecting to have to convince him. He offers her a hand into the plane. She says, “Um.. I mean I can pay you for the flight.” The man smiles and pats her on the hand, “What is your name, signora?” Hope tells him, “Hope.” He says “Ah bella! Hope it means Speranza in Italian! I call you Speranza!! I am Giovani! You look like my daughter. It is my pleasure to take a pretty girl to a pretty town… not as pretty as my Vienna but still is nice.” He helps her in and says laughingly, “Besides.. I’m a rich old man, what need I have for more money.” He hopes in and starts up the plane. Hope looks amused by him and thanks him. She asks how fast they could be there. The man say, “Couple hours. He pats the seat next to him and say, “Just long enough for us to make… how you say ‘chit chat’!” She sits next too him and they take off.

 

Salem:

 

Mimi is at home on the phone to her mother. She tells her mom that she is serious this time and that Shawn must know about Claire being his daughter. We see Shawn walk in and hear this in the background. Just then Mimi’s cell phone on the table buzzes and she opens it and reads Patrick’s text message. She tells her mom she has to go and will talk to her later but that she isn’t changing her mind about telling Shawn. She hangs up a stairs at the message on her cell for a moment. She mutters to herself, “Cat? Patrick doesn’t have a cat? Wait… is this? But why?” She turns and sees Shawn standing there looking confused and angry. She starts to tell him about the text message but he stops her and says, “How about you tell me the truth about Claire instead.” Mimi turns white and says, “How long have you been standing there?!” Shawn says, “Long enough.” He walks up to her and takes her phone out of her hand and puts it on the table. He says, “Talk… tell me everything now.” Mimi looks scares and says, “I… will… but please promise me you will try to understand.”

 

Mimi tells Shawn everything as he listens in stony silence. She apologizes profusely saying how she feared loosing him and how it hurt her knowing that the one thing she couldn’t give him Belle already had. Shawn turns away as she talks. She finally finishes and begs him to say something. He says after a long silence, “Claire is not my daughter, Mimi. She’s Philip’s.” Mimi says, “What? But… I told you about the barn and how…” Shawn stops her and says, “Oh I’m not saying it isn’t possible and I’ll find out for sure. But it doesn’t matter… she is Philip’s child. She was born to him… how could you think I would try and take my uncle’s daughter AND his wife from him? Its bad enough you thought that I would leave the woman I promised to love and marry, but to think I would hurt Philip and Claire that way?! But that’s not the thing that’s really got me puzzled, Mimi.” He is obviously extremely hurt and angry. He continues, “What really gets me is how you let this eat you up, you lied, you kept this from me with out having one single tiny piece of PROOF!! You took the word of Kate and your mother, who forgive me for saying so are not the most trustworthy of people. You took their word and believed what they put in your head about this and about how I would react. You chose them and their games over just trusting and talking to the man you claim to love.” Shawn is teary eyed and furious.

 

Mimi is balling. She stammers, “I… I tried too… I wanted too tell you.” Shawn stops her. He says “After all that’s happened… I… I thought you of all people had learned how to trust and how lies can destroy.” He grabs his coat as she begs him not to go. He says angrily before he leaves, “I want you to understand this very clearly Mimi; I’m not leaving you because I believe Claire is my daughter… I’m leaving you because you lied… because you didn’t have faith in me… because you thought so little of me and how I would react.” He slams the door and leaves Mimi there crying.

 

Salem Park:

 

Billie is walking through the park as Bo1 comes up behind her and hands her roses. She is shocked and asks what the occasion is? He tells her he doesn’t need a reason to buy her flowers.  She can tell something is up and Bo1 asks her to sit down. He tells her about going to talk to Frankie and that the divorce will be finale shortly. She asks him if he is sure that is what he wants? Bo1 says, “All I have ever wanted was a family. I thought I had it with Hope and the boys. I mean I DID have it. Part of me will always love her, but… too much has happened. There is no way Hope and I could ever be a family again. Shawn is grown and hates me, Zack is… gone. What we had is over.” Billie says, “But marriage is through good and bad… even into old age.” Bo1 looks at her and says, “I’m glad you feel that way. I do too, but sometimes people change. I’ve changed.” He gets down on his knees and says to her, “Billie, we…” Suddenly his phone rings. He is going to ignore it but Billie smiles and tells him it is okay and to answer it.

 

It is Frankie calling he asks Bo1 if he can talk. Bo1 says actually it isn’t a good time, that he is with Billie. Frankie sighs and says, “Bo… there is something you should know.” We don’t hear what Frankie tells him but can only guess it is what he told Hope. Bo1 looks furious and he hangs up the phone. He turns back to Billie who is innocently sitting there smiling. Bo1 walks over too her and tells her coldly, “I want you out of my house within the hour.” Billie is shell shocked and asks what is going on. He tells her, “I know what you and Chelsea did. I know you made Hope believe you and I slept together in that motel! How could you!? You claimed to be my friend, to want to help me! Is THAT your idea of help!?!”

 

Billie stands up visibly a little frightened. She says, “Bo! Please! I did it for Chelsea! I knew Hope would leave and that would get her away for the trial. I didn’t mean for it to go this far. I…” Bo1 yells, “STOP! Just stop! I’m sick of everyone in my life lying and turning on me!” Billie pleads, “I wanted to tell you, Bo! I did but I knew you wouldn’t understand. And I’ve been nothing but supportive of you and Hope since! I never wanted to hurt you.” Bo just puts up a hand to silence her. He just shakes his head bubbling with rage and stalks off. Billie stands there crying for a moment and then her face turns angry and she says to herself, “Whoever told you will pay. I’ll be damned if Hope gets you back now after all we have gone through!”
