Part 14:

Hope:

Hope and Giovoni chit chat on the plane. They talk about their lives. He says she looks sad and she tells him about her divorce and about Zack. He consoles her says, “If I were your Papa I would kill dis man Bo for hurting my little girl.” Hope smiles and says that yes she is worried how her father is taking all this as he is in the same town as Bo. Giovani laughs and says “See! Problemo solved!” Hope smiles and thanks him for making her laugh. She asks if he has family and he tells her his wife died 10 years ago and that he has two grown kids, a daughter and a son. He says that since his wife’s death he has spent little time in their home and prefers flying the world and meeting new people. She asks if he would ever remarry and he says, “I do not know… but eh… who knows right? I mean if a de right woman came along.” He smiles at her and says, “Ah if only to be 20 years younger. But ah must admit, and no offense my dear, but I prefer de fiery redheads!” They laugh.

She asks him if he would mind if she sat in the back for a moment; that she needs to look through some files on her laptop. He lets her go with a promise to come back later and tell him all about Salem.

In the back Hope opens her laptop and the folders with the files she retrieved. She sees the one titled “Gina” and opens it. Inside there are many more files with varying titles. She clicks on a few and they are corrupted. She curses under her breath. She then finds one that is not corrupted and reads it out loud:

“Subject: (Hope Brady) Acquired by Stefano DiMera. Was administered RX: 23-42 'Synaptic Conditioning Compound' and programmed with the memories and past of Gina. Due to traumatic events her memory was blocked and subject broke programming on her own. It is unclear what she remembers of her missions under Stefano DiMera’s control. We should assume her memories are blocked but still intact.

Recommendation: Retrieve, Interrogate, Eliminate.

Notes: It is unknown if RX: 4-815-16 'Synaptic Release and Reversal Serum’ will release her blocked memories since it has never been tested on a subject who broke programming naturally. We recommend alternative forms of regaining subject’s memories. RX: 4-815-16 should be used only as a last resort. Subject should be considered immune to reprogramming and terminated after memory extraction.”

Hope leans back and says to herself, “Well… don’t I feel special.”

She tries another couple files in the ‘Gina’ folder but to no avail. She clicks back and sees the folder labeled ‘Ryan_Brady_Project’ she gets a curious look on her face and mutters “Ryan? Who’s Ryan?” She tries to open the file but it is corrupted too.

She sighs and rubs her eyes in frustration. She then notices the file labeled ‘Georgia’. She gets that “hmm….” Look and clicks it open. It IS intact. She reads, but not out loud. Her eyes get bigger and bigger and she continues. She finally blinks and we see tears in her eyes. She sits back and looks out the window she appears startled and a bit sad, shocked. She says to herself, “This changes everything.”

L’s Plane Bound for Paris:

Mason comes out of the flight deck and sits to talk to L who is discussing matter with Derrick. He excuses himself and tells her, “ Madam, the pilot just spoke with our contact at the airport. Hope was scene boarding a private jet shortly after we took off.” L smiles and nodes, “Wonderful. Is the pilot one of ours?” Mason shakes his head, “No I don’t believe so.” L waves it off, “It doesn’t matter. Our dear girl is doing everything according to plan. Once we arrive I want everything in place as quickly as possible. Hope is no fool, she will move quickly. And remember to inform the men that she is too be taken alive at all cost. She must witness Patrick’s death.” 

Mason asks, “What about our long term house guest?” (Refereeing to Bo2). L thinks for a moment, “No not yet. Capture Hope, kill the traitor Lockhart, and lock Hope in a cell with our Bo for awhile. Then kill him. The added trauma of her having the briefest moment of hope for getting her Bo back only to have it snatched away may be just enough to push her over the edge. We need her mind as traumatized as possible without causing damage.” Mason nodes in agreement, “What about the other son in Salem.” L says, “No… the little one was a mistake that we were able to capitalize on. Save the older one until we absolutely need him. Too many bodies only draws attention.” Mason agrees and leaves to the back of the plane.

L looks out her window and smile, “Very soon Hope… I will know everything that’s locked up in your head… every little secret, every   little    dirty   secret Gina dug up for, and ABOUT, the 12.” She glances back at Mason who is hovering over Bo2 and Patrick. Derrick offers her a drink and asks if she is okay. She says she is more then okay. He says, “You must be pleased to know that your revenge on Hope Brady is coming soon.” She says sternly, “Do not get over confidant… we have not won yet. And no. This is not about revenge. Revenge is for people like DiMera it is a weakness.” Derrick retracts, “Of course Madam… apologies. I only meant…” L cuts him off, “It is alright my friend. I admit, while revenge may not be the agenda… life does sometimes offer us our little bonuses.” She smiles and sips her drink.

The Salem Pier:

Mimi is sitting on a bench at the pier crying her eyes out. She hears someone coming and turns to see Bo1 drive up on his bike looking angry. She jumps up to leave but he calls out to her. She stops and walks back to him, sucking up her tears she says, “I can tell by your face that you’ve heard… I’m so sorry.” Bo1 looks confused he says, “Heard what? Are you okay?”

Mimi sighs and sits on the bench saying she thought he knew judging by how angry he looks. Bo1 sits next to her and says, “I just found out I’d been lied too and played for a fool… again.” Mimi looks guilty and just starts crying into her hands. Bo1 is shocked by her actions and puts an arm around her trying to consol her. He asks, “What happened?” Mimi sobs, “I lied to Shawn, to Belle and Philip, even to you and Hope! I found out Claire is really Shawn’s daughter… or at least I think she is. And I kept it a secret.” Bo1 blinks in shock. He takes it in and then asks why she thinks Claire is Shawn’s. Mimi tells him the story. She tells him about how Shawn and Belle were found in the barn and thought it just all fit. Bo1 sighs and then says, “And why didn’t you tell Shawn?”

Mimi says, “Aren’t you mad at me?! I kept you from your Granddaughter! Zack didn’t just save anyone he saved your granddaughter!” Mimi is borderline hysterical. “How can you be so calm!?”

Bo1 smiles and says, “First of all as you pointed out you have no proof about Claire. Secondly…” He pauses and looks at her with total sympathy “… You’re already broken down… what good would yelling at you do now? But I want to understand… why?”

Mimi sniffs and tries to regain herself. She says, “Why did you lie to Hope about Zack?” Bo1 is taken aback. Mimi apologizes, “I’m sorry. I just mean… sometimes people do stupid things they know are wrong because they are afraid what the truth will do.” This causes Bo1 to pause and think. He really isn’t listening much as Mimi continues, “I have no good reason for what I did. I felt… devastated that Belle had given Shawn the one thing I couldn’t… a baby. It felt like the universe was slapping me in the face… punishing me. Which I suppose is only fair. I wanted to tell Shawn… honestly I did. But one thing after another would stop me and then… I just got caught up in it all. My mom… Kate… I couldn’t get their crap out of my head. I was stupid… no excuse… I was just stupid and wrong. I always want to do the right thing but always end up making a mess of it.”  

He snaps back to the moment and looks down at Mimi who is wiping her eyes. He smiles sympathetically and says, “Have you ever heard the Irish saying; Coimhéad fearg fhear na foighde?” Mimi instantly stops crying and looks up at him with her brow furrowed in confusion and shock. Bo1 says, “It means…” And both he and Mimi say at the same time “Beware of the anger of a patient man.” Bo1 smiles and says, “You have heard it! Well it is a saying I’ve remembered since I was young, can’t remember where I first heard it. But I feel it applies here. Give Shawn some time Mimi. He will calm down. When he does, tell him what you told me.”

Mimi sighs and says she will try. Bo1 stands and asks if she will be okay? She nods. He says, “Thank you Mimi… I don’t know if I helped you at all but you helped me.” She says, “I’m sorry… I never even asked you why you were upset.” Bo1 smiles and says, “I’m not anymore. Thanks.” The turns and gets back on his bike and leaves.

Mimi stands there for a moment and we hear Bo1’s voice in her head saying the Irish saying again. Mimi says to herself, “Patrick said that to me once… said a friend of his use to spout off those sayings all the time.” She looks thoughtful and then remembers her phone and takes it out of her pocket. She reopens the text message from Patrick and reads it aloud. She repeats it under her breath several times. She looks confused but then it dawns on her. She sits down on the bench again and digs through her purse. She finds a pen and paper and starts writing. Finally she sits back with a start and says, “Oh my god!” She covers her mouth in shock and then we see the paper. On it she wrote out several attempts and then we see it there on the paper: ‘Hope.’… Bo is dangerous’ Mimi looks in the direction Bo1 left in and says to herself, “This can’t be a coincident… what is going on?!”

Brady House:

Bo1 comes in and opens the door just as Billie is about to open it from the other side to leave. Bo1 takes her coat and bag from her and tells her to go inside. She says she was leaving like he asked her too.

He asks her to sit on the sofa as he paces the floor in the living room. She obeys and asks him what’s going on. He says, “I… I understand why you did it. Why you always do it.” He turns to face her she is looking up at him puzzled. He continues, “You had to learn early on in life only to trust, and look out for yourself. And now you have a daughter to protect. You saw a chance to keep her safe… and maybe get the family back you wanted.” Billie opens her mouth to protest but Bo1 stops her, “Don’t… don’t deny it Billie. I know it, Chelsea knows it, Kate knows it, and so does Hope. You have always wanted us to get back together and you’ve never shied away from an opportunity.” Billie’s eyes drop guiltily.

Bo1 sits down next to her and says, “And maybe that’s why I’m always drawn to you. I know how you feel even when you don’t want to admit it.” He touches her face. She melts and tears up saying, “What are you saying, Bo?” He smiles and says, “I’m saying if we are going to make this work you can never stop fighting for us… BUT, you have to stop lying to me.” They kiss. Billie then asks, “What changed? You were so angry at the park.” Bo1 says, “I had a chat with someone and it made me realize the crazy things people do when they are hurting or scared... when all they are wanting is a family to love. Reminded me how important forgiveness is. I expect Hope to forgive Chelsea but I can’t forgive you? Made me realize that if I stayed angry at you I would be denying us both a chance at happiness just like Hope is denying herself peace… I was going to ask you at the park, Billie. We… we WERE a family once you and I. We could be one again; you, me, and Chelsea. When this is all over… the trial, the divorce… Billie, will you marry me?” Billie looks shell shocked but stammers out an enthusiastic “Yes!” They hug.

Just then Chelsea walks in the door. She stops when she sees them and noting the teary eyes asks what’s wrong. Billie and Bo1 stand and Billie says, “Nothing! Nothing at all.” Billie tells Chelsea, “Your father and I… well… as soon as the trial is over… we will all be a family.. OFFICIALY!” She is beaming with joy. Chelsea asks skeptical, “What does that mean?” Billie says, “We’re getting married.” She grabs Chelsea into a hug. We see Chelsea’s face (Bo1 and Billie do not) Chelsea’s expression is priceless, it is shock and horror. She pulls back and forces a smile. Billie asks if she isn’t happy and Chelsea persists that she is thrilled. She hugs Bo1 and tells them she’ll go to the kitchen and get something for them to make a toast with.

Inside she takes out her phone and calls Frankie, her face is panic stricken. She asks him desperately if he talked to Hope. He tells her he did and that Hope didn’t care. That whatever the reason she wanted Hope to know didn’t work. Chelsea is devastated. Frankie then tells her that he told her father too. Chelsea goes white and asks “What?!” He says, “Yes. Your speech about family had its affect.” Chelsea says, “But… how can that be?! My mother and father just announce they are getting married!!!” Frankie is stunned and says, “WHAT?!?!” Chelsea is near tears, “I said they are getting married… after the trial and the divorce I assume.” Frankie says, “You don’t sound too thrilled.” Chelsea says, “I…” she regains herself and we can tell she is now covering her tracks. “I… am… I mean of course I am. It’s just… I am surprised is all.” We see her now sucking back her previous emotions and putting on her best act, “I wanted Hope and my Dad to know the truth is all, before getting divorced. It just didn’t feel right you know? But if they know and still hate each other? Well I’m not going to argue.”

Frankie on the other end looks into the phone with a smirk that tells us he just doesn’t know what to make of his client. He says sarcastically, “Well I’m happy you are pleased and that your guilt is at rest. But the next time you decide to have an attack of morals, you are doing it yourself.” He hangs up.

Chelsea on the other end closes her phone and her face again falls to depression, she says to herself, “This is all my fault…What do I do now?” She looks desperate.
