Part 15:

 

Hope:

 

Hope and her friend land. She had fallen asleep. Giovoni let her sleep awhile and then wakes her. She thanks him for the help and his friendliness and apologizes for having to hurry off.  He stops her and says, “My dear… dis entire trip you have seemed panicked. Is everything ok?” Hope thanks him and insists she is fine, just worried for a friend. Giovoni looks at her sideways and says, “I’ve been a Papa long enough to know when a little girl is lying to me.” He smiles and says, “I give you my number. You call me if you need anything.” She smiles and thanks him. He tells her he has family in Paris and will stay there until she calls him saying, “Forgive me but it is in my nature. You tell me when you find your friend and you are okay.” Hope promises she will and leaves. Giovoni watches as she goes with a concerned look. He takes out his cell phone and makes a call. He says into the phone, “Vinie, is me, I need a little help with something… probably nothing but you do me a small favor okay?”

 

Hope finds a rental car place at the airport and gets a car. She follows the GPS signal out of town. She ends up in a village outside Paris. She pulls the car over to the side of the road and looks out the window and a huge mansion on the top of a hillside. She says to herself, “You are in there Patrick, and I’m going to get you out.” Just then Hope’s cell phone rings. She jumps startled by it but answers. The connection is full of static but Hope can make out that it is Mimi on the other end. She says, “Mimi? Mimi, I can barely hear you?... what? What about Patrick?” She strains to hear but the call disconnects.

 

Inside the mansion we see Mason turn away from a security monitor and say to L, “She’s here… just as you said.” L smiles and nods. She turns to leave and then stops and turns smiling, “Send Julian to meet her… A familiar face may be just what we need to put her off guard.” Mason smiles and says happily, “Yes Ma’am.” L says, “And give him this.” She hands Mason a cell phone that we recognize as Patrick’s. Mason smiles evilly.

 

Patrick and Bo2:

 

Patrick and Bo2 have are being shuffled into a cell. Bo2 is making a huge struggle with his guard, to the point of ridiculous. He is calling him names and making a huge fuss. Patrick is yelling at him to calm down but Bo2 is not listening. Both are still blindfolded. Finally the guard dealing with Bo2 punches him in the mouth and tosses him into the room. Patrick they take off his bindings and tell him to deal with his friend before he gets himself hurt.

 

Once the guards leave Patrick yanks off his blindfold and goes to check on Bo2. He turns him over to find Bo2 laughing! He pulls off his blindfold and asks what the hell is wrong with him. Bo2 just keeps laughing but lifts the back of his shirt enough to show Patrick the hilt of a gun. Patrick’s eyes get big and he smiles at Bo2 whispering, “That’s what that fight was all about? So that you could lift a gun off of the guards?!” Bo2 smiles and nods, using his blindfold to nurse his lip. Patrick helps Bo2 to his feet and says, “Glad you and I are on the same side.”

 

The men look around their new room. This one is similar to a jail cell, with two beds a chair and a toilet and sink. The walls are cement instead of bars is the only main difference. There is also a small window up towards the top of the wall near the ceiling. Bo2 climbs up on the chair and strains to look out the window. He can see all the way down the cliff and notices a car way off in the distance parked on the edge of the road. The sun is setting and the lighting is terrible. He strains his eyes as he sees a figure emerge from the car. She turns and while Bo2 can’t really see her clearly… he knows. He says, “Hope!”

Patrick turns and says, “What?” Bo2 says, “She’s here!” Patrick scrambles up the chair next to him and looks out. He says, “How can you tell? I can barely see anything… just a figure.” Bo2 says, “Trust me… I know. I can tell by how she moves.” Bo2 looks love sick and terrified since now he knows Hope definitely is in danger. Hope moves out of sight and Bo2 and Patrick hop down. Patrick pats his back pocket and says, “Oh no! They took my phone.”

 

Bo2 says, “Which means Hope is heading where THEY want her too. Okay, so much for waiting… we have to get out of here now! Every minute we waste is a minute she is on her own.” Patrick says, “No arguments. So… what’s the plan?” Bo2 looks around the room and walking over to the door and putting his ear to it. He then pulls out the gun and takes a bullet from the cartridge. Patrick watches on curious. Bo2 starts messing with the bullet and tells Patrick, “Rip up one of the mattresses and see if you can’t pull off one of those chair legs.” Patrick say, “They’re metal!” Bo2 looks up slightly annoyed and Patrick just says, “Okay okay I’ll see what I can do.” The men get to work

 

Salem:

 

It is a new day and Chelsea gets up and is dressed and heading out. Bo1 and Billie come down stairs asking where she is going. She just says very down, “For a walk.” Billie asks to speak with her alone. Bo1 goes in the kitchen. Billie asks Chelsea what’s bothering her. Chelsea says, “Nothing, I just… I mean… isn’t this all moving kind of fast?” Billie asks, “Why are you acting like this? This is what you have been wanting isn’t it? Why aren’t you happy?” Chelsea covers saying, “Oh yes.. yes I am. I’m just… nothing. I…”

 

Billie smiles and cuts her off saying, “You just aren’t use to the idea of a happy ending?” Chelsea forces a smile, but her eyes tell us she is holding back her real feelings. She says, “Yeah… that must be it.” Billie hugs her and tells her, “Sometimes we do get our happy endings, honey. Try and be happy.” Chelsea smiles and says, “Thanks, I will.” Billie lets her go on her walk and heads herself to the kitchen.

 

Outside Chelsea sighs and leans against the closed door. She looks on the verge of tears and says to herself, “I wish I could be happy, Mom. But I can’t.” We get a brief clip flashback of her conversation with L. Then back to the present Chelsea says,  “You and Dad being together makes the wrong people happy and I need to know why.” She leaves.

 

Shawn and Belle:

 

Shawn goes over to see Belle. Philip isn’t home. She welcomes him in and he goes over to see Claire who is playing on the floor. He kneels down and stares at her. Belle comes over asking if he is okay and saying that he looks like he hasn’t slept. He tells her he hasn’t, that Mimi and him had a fight and that she left and is at her mother’s. Belle is stunned and asks what happened. Shawn stands up and faces Belle he says, “Belle… do you remember that night in the barn?” Belle looks confused and says “Yes. Why?” Shawn paces around but then rubbing his eyes laughs and says, “This is so ridiculous. I mean we would remember right? We would remember if something had happened between us!” Belle looks stunned and laughs says, “Is THAT what you two fought about?!”

 

Shawn stops and looks at her, “Mimi told you?!” Belle says, “Yes, right after it happened she tried to convince me that you and I slept together that night. That we where found… well… not exactly in appropriate attire for hanging out in a barn.” She jokes and continues, “But why is Mimi still upset about that? Nothing happened and even if it did it is ancient history.” Shawn shakes his head and walks over to Belle putting his hands on her shoulders to sort of… stabilize her for the shock. He says, “No Belle. Mimi is convinced we slept together that night… and that Claire is the result of that.”

 

Belle gives a nervous shocked laugh and steps a couple feet back from Shawn. She asks how Mimi figures this and Shawn tells her the entire story. Belle sinks into the sofa in a daze as Shawn tells her all. He finishes by saying that he knows it is wrong, that there is no proof.

 

Belle looks up to Shawn and asks, “Do you believe it?” Shawn sakes his head no saying, “I feel connected to Claire… she is my cousin and she is alive thanks to Zack. I see part of him in her. But she’s Philip’s daughter not mine.” Belle looks like she feels differently. She says, “But Mimi believes she’s yours.” Shawn says, “Yeah but Mimi is being insecure and listening to her mother and Kate.” Belle asks, “If you don’t think Claire is yours then why did Mimi sleep at her mom’s house last night and why are you here?” She stands and walks over too him.

 

Shawn looks at her and says, “Mimi slept at her mom’s because she lied to me and didn’t trust me.” Belle looks a little too pleased, she says to Shawn, “Shawn… maybe Mimi didn’t tell you because she knew how you really feel.” Shawn looks at her as she continues, “Mimi didn’t tell you because she knew you’d come here, knew that deep down you and I still love each other and that a child would change everything.” She smiles warmly at him and touches his face. You could be her father Shawn. This could be the most wonderful thing to ever happen to us!”

Shawn steps back looking at her like she is crazy. He says, “Wonderful?! This…this doesn’t CHANGE anything. Even if Claire is…” he shakes the thought out of his head and recomposes, “What about Philip, Belle!?”

 

Philip comes in just then and says, “What about Philip?” Belle and Shawn both turn startled. Shawn looks back at Belle. Neither say anything. Philip puts down his jacket and picks up Claire. He walks over too them and can tell something is up. He says, “So… anyone going to answer?” Shawn sighs and is about to answer when Belle interrupts saying, “We were just talking about… Mimi! Yes, she and Shawn had a fight last night and I was telling Shawn he could stay here and he was concerned you would mind.” Philip doesn’t look like he is buying it he looks at Shawn. Shawn we can tell is about to out it all but then looks at Claire who is poking at Philip’s face smiling up at him. Shawn sighs and says, “Yeah. But I was telling her it was okay, that Mimi is at her mother’s.”

Philip asks if he is okay and wants to talk about it. Shawn says, “Yes… I would. In fact I think we SHOULD talk about it Philip. But not right now.” He gives Belle a knowing look that implies SHE needs to talk to Philip and says, “I have to go and I think I should let you two have some time to talk.” He leaves. Philip looks at Belle concerned and confused. She excuses herself and runs after Shawn. Out in the hall she stops him before he goes into his place. She says, “Shawn, please don’t think I don’t care about Philip, its just…”

Shawn stops her and snaps back in a low tone so Philip can’t hear, “When you tried to keep me from marrying Mimi I made excuses for your behavior. I thought maybe it was just nerves left over from Claire’s ordeal and everything you’d been through. But after all you and Philip have been through…you would happily leave him and take away his daughter at the first hint of a chance for you and I to get back together.” Belle is stunned at his anger. She doesn’t respond. Shawn we can tell is on the verge of mentally snapping he says, “Mimi lies to me…betrays our trust over… over a rumor! And then you… you are willing to destroy a family… your DAUGHTER’S family to get your ‘high school sweetheart’ back?!” Belle stammers, “S… Shawn I just.” She is almost in tears.

 

Shawn puts up his hands to stop her from talking. He says, “Did you forget Belle that Philip is my uncle? That he is family? And despite what example my father is making, I still have a strong sense of what family means. Biological or not Philip IS Claire’s father!! And YOU… you are my uncle’s wife! I… I can’t believe this is happening! Its like everything I thought I knew was a LIE! The Mimi I knew… she would have told me her concerns. And the Belle I knew…” He looks at her with tears in his eyes,  “..The Belle I knew felt the same way about family that I do.” Shawn is in tears, as is Belle. She tries to reach out to him, sobbing, “Shawn…” He steps back from her and says, “You tell Philip. You tell him, or I will.” He turns to leave.

 

Belle says, “And what about Claire?!” Shawn says without turning around, “If Philip wants to know who the father is then I’ll agree to be tested. But it is his choice. I will always be in her life… because I love my family… ALL of them.” He opens the door to go in but Belle takes a step forward and calls out to him again sobbing, “I’m not the only one who married someone while still carrying a torch for another, Shawn! Did you tell Mimi about your feelings?!” Shawn’s face tenses for a moment and we can tell he knows she is right and that he did marry Mimi while still having feelings for Belle. But he doesn’t respond or look back and slams the door behind him leaving Belle in the hallway.

 

Shawn looks around his loft and sees flashes of he and Mimi throughout it. He tears up and grabs his jacket and leaves.

 

Hope:

 

Hope sneaks towards the mansion avoiding the cameras, tripwires, and sentinels. Finally she gets to the outer wall and works her way around until she finds what looks like a basement door. She starts to picking the lock. She opens the door and slips inside. We see Mason standing with another man who we only see from the back. Mason says to him, “That’s her. She’s on sub level 3.” He hands the man the phone and says, “Take this and you won’t have to look for her…she’ll find you.”

 

Bo2 and Patrick:

Bo2 has taken some of the gunpowder from a bullet and wrapped it tightly in a small piece of the cloth Patrick tore off the mattress. He then takes some of the soap from the sink and scraps off some and sticks it to the back of the cloth with the gunpowder. He then goes to the door and puts his ear to the wall. Patrick says, “I sure hope you know what you are doing.” Bo2 shushes him. He then leans back finding the spot he was looking for and presses the gunpowder filled cloth on the spot. He says, “This door is electronically locked. I can’t pick it unless I can get to the wires. Patrick looks confused for a moment then understands his idea says, “Ah, so blow a small hole in the wall and you can get to the wires. But won’t someone hear it?” Bo2 says, “Well that’s why I used the cloth instead of just shooting it. It isn’t a guaranty but hopefully it will be enough… that and you holding the pillow against it.” Patrick looks at him saying, “What?!” Bo2 smiles and says, “Either that or you can swing the metal chair leg at it hoping it causes a spark.” Patrick looks at him in a humorously annoyed way and grabs the pillow off of one of the beds.

 

The men position themselves. Bo2 takes the metal chair leg and says, “Okay, hold the pillow right up against the mark. As soon as I hit slam down the pillow… Okay on 3. 1…2…3!” Bo2 swings the leg and hits the mark. There is a loud “Pop!” as Patrick slams down the pillows. He says, “That didn’t really keep the noise down.” Bo2 says, “No… so we better hope it worked.” They pull back the pillow and see a tiny hole in the wall exposing some wires. Bo2 curses under his breath and says, “Not big enough.” He takes the chair leg and bangs on the hole as a couple pieces of mortar starts to fall away.

 

Salem:

 

Shawn is walking through Salem Place as we see Mimi running up to catch up with him. She calls out to him, he stops then seeing it is her turns away and starts walking faster. She yells to him, “Please! Shawn, it is important!” He stops and turns as she catches up, “I don’t have ANYTHING to say to you, Mimi!”

 

We see standing at a café, Chelsea who just happened to be in the right spot to over hear Mimi and Shawn. She sees them and ducks out of the way to overhear without them seeing her.

 

Mimi tries to explain to Shawn, “Shawn I know you are angry but this isn’t about us. Patrick sent me this message. It was a code he and I use to use as kids. It said that your father is DANGEROUS!” She takes out her phone and shows it to Shawn. He reads it and looks at her and says, “You’re crazy.” He hands her back the phone and turns to leave but she grabs his arm. She says, “Please Shawn! There’s more. I spoke with your dad… he…”

 

Shawn stops her and says, “Talking to my father isn’t going to score you any points Mimi. Look… I’ve had it! Everyone in my life is turning against me! My mom is half way around the world very very far from anything anyone in this crazy town can do to her! Right now she is probably more safe then any of us! This is just a pathetic attempt to try and talk to me Mimi and I won’t have! I know we have things to work out but just… give me some space for God’s sake! Just… stay away from me.” He storms off.

Mimi stands there looking distraught for failing. Chelsea watches till Shawn is out of sight and then comes up to Mimi and says, “I’m sorry, but I heard everything… I think we need to talk.”

 

Hope:

 

Hope is sneaking through the mansion following her signal. She comes to a cell door. She slowly opens it with her gun drawn. The room is dark and as soon as she steps in floodlights shine on her and two men grab her from the sides taking her gun. She fights is struggling when from the light steps a man with dirty blonde hair and an eye patch. Hope’s eyes refocus and she looks up blinking. She mutters in shock, “Steve?” The man walks up to her smiling and says, “That was way too easy.” He backhands her across the face knocking her unconscious.
